Put a Cap on IP Questions and Add a Progress Bar

The Initial Placement assessment is too long and not clear to students that there will ever be an end in sight. There needs to be a max number of questions. No more than 45 questions total and a progress bar so kids know they're getting close to finishing! Or, allow the teacher to cut off the IP and assign a level to move them into a course.

    Hi Heather,

Thanks for your feedback! While we understand that IP can feel long in certain cases, our motion engine, the software responsible for personalizing each student's math and reading content, works in such a way that a progress bar would not accurately represent student progress. For example, if a student begins answering many questions in a row correctly, the motion engine would serve up higher grade level content. The opposite would be true if a student answered many questions in a row incorrectly. As far as a limit on questions, we do currently have a limit for questions implemented in Initial Placement. In order for the motion engine to provide a student with an accurate starting level, sometimes more questions are needed, so a hard cap of 45 would unfortunately not be possible.

    Thanks again,

    Colin Schmidt
