We should have the option to make videos play in full screen.
This should be as simple as a youtube video for full screen viewing. Not difficult like it is now. Or give us the option to download the video to present on our own in a video player.
I’m adding my voice to the many educators who’ve expressed frustration with the video display limitations on Savvas Realize. The inability to make videos truly full screen—especially when embedded within restrictive frames—makes the platform feel outdated and unintuitive. This issue has been raised for over a year, with 80+ votes, and yet there’s been no visible progress.
It’s not just the video player. The entire interface—both student and teacher views—is cluttered with nested frames that make navigation and display on any device (laptop, tablet, even smartboards) feel clunky and inefficient. The design actively works against usability, which is disappointing for a platform meant to support learning.
As a teacher trying to deliver engaging content, I often find myself asking: Is it even worth using this site when the experience is so frustrating? I hope Savvas will prioritize modernizing the UI and improving accessibility across devices. These changes would make a huge difference in classroom adoption and student engagement.
Palm Beach County has made this request as well. See feedback from the District. "Would it be possible to contact Saavas and ask them to give us an option to full screen option when playing the visual learning video? They have so many borders on the screen that the full video doesn't fit on the smartboard screen. I either lose the question or the progress bar. They even have a present button, but it does nothing on my smartboard or laptop. It may just be me, but I haven't been able to find a way to optimize it.
I've attached what it looks like. The screenshots are from my laptop. Please let me know if you have any suggestions if I'm missing something." jennifer.reid@palmbeachschools.org
Please add this feature it would make these videos more effective.
