I would like to see more decodable independent practice problems and quick check questions.

I have tried to do the quick check and the independent practice word problems with my 1st graders, but there are way too many words for students this age to read/listen to- thus making math more about reading comprehension and unnecessarily harder for the students. The quick check ends up not being "quick" due to this and thr word problems become necessary to do whole class, instead of independently. There are great resources out there using decodable text for students to practice word problems.
