Can documents be downloadable into Google Docs instead of just in Word?

Our school district no longer uses Word. We are a Google platform district. It is difficult to download editable documents into Google Doc because they do not transfer correctly. It would make it easier and more user friendly to make it compatible...

Multiple contributors to a playlist
