Progress carryover year to year on Successmaker

I teach 6th grade math. Some of my students had a very low initial placement on Successmaker, based on their beginning of year diagnostic results. Part of this reason might be because they guessed on most of the questions since they haven’t yet learned the common core 6th grade math content on the diagnostic. I received an email from a dad who asked why her student was working on 2nd grade math in Successmaker. Based on that email and on my experience watching students who I think were placed too low, I created a new Successmaker course and bumped up all my students who were below a 4th grade level up to level 4.5, so middle of 4th grade.

Let’s suppose that a student who is now at level 4.5 works on Successmaker all year and ends at a 5.5 level by the end of the school year. How do we maintain their progress so that next year when they take a new diagnostic that they’re not placed back in 2nd grade Successmaker? Will their progress be saved / carry-over year to year?
