Inability to Return myPerspectives Assignments Merged

I know that assignments have to be reassigned if a student turns them in early/accidentally. This creates an entirely new duplicate assignment in the teacher's Google Classroom, so if 8 students did this, you'd have 8 duplicates in Google Classroom. When you sync from Progress Book (gradebook) to Google Classroom, you have to make sure you select all the duplicates so they sync in Progress Book. This seems like something that needs to be fixed, especially for students on IEPs who have accommodations such as redoing work if it is below grade level. It is a very common, if not daily, teacher practice to have to tell students to redo or finish a part of an assignment they may have even just forgotten to do.
