Savvas lacks key features ALEKS provided, including unlimited retakes, unique student assignments, and options for creating custom assignments.

We used ALEKS for the past six years through a state-funded program in South Carolina. Since the subscription ended, I’ve been trying to use Savvas, but it lacks many of the features that made ALEKS so effective and teacher-friendly. For example, Savvas does not allow unlimited retakes, does not generate unique assignments for each student, and provides no option for creating custom assignments. It also lacks flexible progress monitoring, detailed student mastery reports, adaptive pathways that adjust automatically to individual student needs, and quick options for printing or exporting assignments and results. These limitations make planning, differentiating, and managing math instruction much more time-consuming compared to ALEKS.
